Role Overview

We’re seeking a sharp, culturally tapped-in Writer/Journalist Intern to cover local music releases, artist profiles, events, and community stories. This person should be able to turn interviews and experiences into compelling written content.

Responsibilities

• Write album reviews, event recaps, and artist features

• Conduct interviews with local creatives

• Develop opinion pieces and cultural commentary

• Assist with captions and promotional copy

• Pitch story ideas weekly

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Comfortable conducting interviews (virtual and in-person)

• Knowledge of Richmond’s music and creative scene

• Journalism, communications, or English background preferred (not required)

Bonus If You Have

• Published writing samples

• Experience with WordPress or blog platforms

• Social media writing experience
