Overview:
The Richmond Seen is seeking photographers and videographers to help document Richmond’s creative and cultural scene.
We are an independent arts and culture publication highlighting local artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, food vendors/restaurants, and community events across the city. We’re looking for visual storytellers who enjoy capturing authentic moments and real community energy.
This role focuses on event and interview coverage. Our editorial team handles the written storytelling and your job is to capture the visuals that help bring those stories to life.
What You’ll Do:
Photograph or film local events, performances, interviews, and community gatherings
Capture candid moments, crowd energy, and artist features
Deliver edited, high-quality images or video clips following each assignment
Collaborate with our editorial team on creative direction when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Comfortable shooting in live event environments
Reliable transportation within the Richmond area
Ability to meet agreed delivery timelines
Strong eye for storytelling through visuals
Journalism or media experience is not required
This role is ideal for emerging photographers, film students, creatives building their portfolio, or anyone passionate about documenting Richmond culture.
