The Richmond Seen: Issue 03 on sale Sunday

The third issue of The Richmond Seen, themed “Culturally Appropriate,” examines how Richmond’s creators, chefs, and community leaders are reclaiming what’s theirs — from food and art to space and story. Inside, you’ll find The Function’s celebration of Black chefs and Virginia’s rightful claim as a barbecue originator, All City Art Club’s new home on Grace Street, the seed keepers preserving ancestral food traditions, highlights from the BLK RVA Community Awards honoring the city’s changemakers, and so much more.

This issue challenges how culture is shared, owned, and represented reminding readers that our identity isn’t borrowed, it’s built from within.

Subscriptions will also be available. Subscribe for a quarterly print will be $14.99, or purchase for $19.99. Our quantity will be extremely limited, and there will be no holds. We will be working with our partners on distro in the city, but you better snag online.

This issue features All City Art Club, the 22nd Happily Natural Festival, Ujamaa Seeds, rappers Troy, King Kajui, Ty Sorrell, stories on art, Francine the cat, and what we believe to be culturally appropriate. Talks on culture, farming, our top events, and so much more.
