Honest journalism in our community
is necessary.
Community,
Bringing this next print edition has taken much time, heart, effort, and tears. But every time we are out in the city and encounter an artist or a reader, we are always met with love, admiration, and encouragement. To hear, “I really love what y’all are doing,” or “What you’re doing is necessary,” is the fuel that keeps this going for us. The necessity of honest journalism in our community, and the need for it, comes from people like all of us.
We’ve had tough conversations and have felt weighed down by the uncertainty of today’s political climate. Virginia is embarking on a landmark election in November. But the conversations in the community have remained the same: it is time to prepare, but also to turn inward for all that we need.
