Women’s History Month with Virginia Hip Hop Foundation

This is what it’s like when Virginia creativity meets the world and their voices are heard through their artistic endeavors.

RICHMOND, VA — March is Women’s History Month and the Virginia Hip Hop Foundation as well the VMHC are celebrating it by acknowledging the many talented Virginian women who have impacted Hip-Hop here as well as other places across the country and world. From rapping, to electronic music, to radio, Virginian women have stamped their stay in this forever evolving industry. 

On March 4th, at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture (6-8 PM) there will be conversations about these leading ladies' influences and inspirations in music, experiences in this industry as women and mostly, as A BLACK WOMAN. 

The Lady of Rage

Guest speakers include: The Lady of Rage, Farrah Fawx, Dr. KaLyn “Kay” Coghill, June Jones, Mikki Spencer, Justice R.

From educators and radio personalities, to artists, performers and songwriters, the diversity of these women have made their presence known in the music industry. They are perfect examples of what it's like when Virginia creativity meets the world and their voices are heard through their artistic endeavors.
