Introducing The TRS Seen Awards — Nominations Are Now Open

We’re excited to launch the TRS Seen Awards sponsored by BLK RVA, celebrating the individuals, collectives, and organizations shaping Richmond’s cultural landscape. These awards honor the storytellers, creatives, visual artists, community leaders, and culinary creatives who are building the scene and amplifying Richmond’s voices.

Nominations are officially open! We want the community to help us highlight those making a meaningful impact in the past 12 months. Nominees don’t need to live in Richmond — what matters is the impact they’ve had on our city.

Award Categories:

  • The Seen Award — Storytellers, journalists, podcasts, media platforms, or personalities amplifying Richmond voices

  • Event of the Year — Annual events, music festivals and curated concerts

  • Visual Artist of the Year — Creatives shaping the aesthetic of the city

  • Sound of the City Award — Producers, DJs, or musicians influencing Richmond’s sound

  • Community Spotlight Award — Individuals or organizations doing Richmond-centered, community-rooted work

  • The Taste Award — Culinary creatives cultivating the taste of Richmond

Each nominee will be considered once per category, regardless of how many times they are submitted.

How Winners Are Chosen

While the community helps spotlight Richmond’s talent, a dedicated Seen Awards Committee will review all nominations and select the winners. This ensures that the awards honor both impact and vision across the city’s creative scene.

Help us shine a light on the people shaping Richmond today. The Seen Awards are for the scene, by the scene.
