In Da Mix Podcast Kicks off Season 2 at CNTR
In Da Mix Podcast kicked off its season two premiere on Thursday, February 5th, at CNTR. Hosts C.D.O.T, Lauren Melia, and Jae Slimm celebrated the new season live with Richmond’s Noah-O and Big No. In Da Mix welcomed listeners to a special event where they discussed J. Cole’s new album, The Fall Off and Noah-O and Big No’s latest collaborative album, Richmond Brave 2.
The Richmond Seen had the chance to speak with Logan Walker, President of Royalty Entertainment Productions, the company behind In Da Mix, who spoke on the energy surrounding the premiere:
“You ever feel like you’re on the cusp of something really cool? That’s how we feel with In Da Mix. It’s in the tagline: Culture, Creativity, Connection. That’s what we’re trying to bring to Richmond. We want to get people tapped into the local scene. Not just music, but art, Black businesses as a whole. We want to talk about cultural events from different aspects and viewpoints.
Season one was great. It was a really great turnout for the season finale. We’ve built something really cool over the last six to seven months. It’s getting more popular, and it’s beautiful to see how it’s blossomed.
With season two, more guests, more performers. We’re going to have some of Richmond’s finest local artists performing in front of all of us. A bit more chaos. A little bit more crazy stuff. More jokes. More fun. A lot more in store.”
TRS also spoke with In Da Mix hosts C.D.O.T and Jae Slimm.
TRS: Why do you think the podcast has blossomed to where it is now, and what can folks expect from the upcoming season?
C.D.O.T: I think it’s just genuine connection. Everybody being plugged in. Everybody focused. I just think we’re the ones. Season 2? More guests. Bigger guests. More sponsorships.
Jae Slimm: “Ready, bro. It’s been a long journey, and there are a lot of good things about to happen. This is about community, music, culture. I’m glad to see everybody supporting.”
