ShaelaSoul Releases “Parked Car Conversations” This Friday
by Eric Jackson | Aug 12, 2025
This Friday, August 15, Richmond’s own ShaelaSoul opens up about the drive of relationships, the fuel it takes to endure, and what happens when love and connection meets loss and collision in her new EP, Parked Car Conversations.
The project opens with a foreboding mood — strings, violins, and marching piano chords paving the road for a love story. From the very first track, Shae pulls listeners into an almost cinematic scene, recalling either the thrill of a new whip… or maybe the memory of a love she once had.

If you’ve spent any time in Richmond’s live music scene, you’ve likely crossed paths with Shae. She released No Good in December and has been a consistent force in putting on shows for the city. A gifted writer and soulful performer, she’s now stepping into the spotlight with her first complete body of work.
The Richmond Seen: You’ve had music in the cut for a while. How does it feel to finally put out a full body of work? And why now?
ShaelaSoul: Mannnnn. Music for days! I honestly feel nervous! It’s one thing to drop a single and go on and do your thing, but these songs are back to back and this is my first one. I’ve talked about it for a long time and I’m actually doing it. Music is so sacred and personal, but it’s meant to be shared and bring people together… so they can relate and fellowship. I know someone has these same thoughts and conversations in the whip like I do — I just wrote a song about it and you can relate. There’s a connection. I love that. That’s the goal. To connect.
Now was the time. I’ve been on a journey of trying to perfect something that’s meant to be imperfect in a sense… I was rushing. So I slowed down, got my thoughts out, and here we are.
TRS: Was there a conversation that made you come up with the name Parked Car Conversations?
Shae: There were mannnny conversations, but the best and worst ones were with myself in the car. This project was created in the car because I didn’t quite feel comfortable being inside where anyone could hear me. Whenever I’m in the car, I’m by myself and can be my unfiltered self — going back and forth on how I should respond to messages and conversations. Then, when I get out or arrive at my destination, my mind is set.
TRS: What’s the vibe on PCC? Any features?
Shae: This project is a love story until boom — a crash out. I would say this is cruise music… I think it’s “coming into the morning” music from a night ride. It’s personal. Soul is right on the edge with this one.
There are no features on this project, but of course there’s always something in the works with the known artists in the community. Keep it locked!! All love and soul!
A tight, five-song EP with tremendous replay value, Parked Car Conversations bends a love story within the confines of a parked car — a place where Shae’s unfiltered truths spill out in full color.
The official Parked Car Conversations Album Release Party happens Wednesday at MyCNTR from 7 PM to 9 PM. Food and drinks will be provided.
