Battle Rap Takes the Ring at RVA Pro Wrestling
This past Friday, RVA Pro Wrestling took to The Park, a nostalgic multi-use space in Richmond, that felt like those giant rec centers we ran through as kids. The night delivered everything you’d expect from an indie wrestling card — wild personalities, high-flying flips, and plenty of crowd boos.
But what made this event stand apart was what happened before the bell rang.
Southpaw Battle Coalition took over the ring, with Radio B. setting the tone for a surprise battle rap showdown. The first matchup featured Tson vs. Introverse, a one-rounder, a notable shift from the typical 3-round bout. The mic levels made parts of the exchange difficult to hear, but the energy was there. Tson, whose ranked Top 5 in Southpaw, seemed unsettled early on, but trudged though, while Introverse delivered his lines with precision. He reminded Son, “I’ve been stone cold since the first battle we instigated.”

Next up, current Southpaw Battle Coalition champion, Ro$$etti went head-to-head with Rel Lyfe, in another one-round bout. Both emcees brought presense & performance, proving why they stay respected in this arena.

Ro$$etti positioned his raps as elevated discourse, “these ain’t rhymes, these TED Talks.” He followed that with a line that reflected the energy that night, “Let’s get it scrap, they ain’t here for daps or here for raps, they here for graps, let’s give ‘em that.”
Rel Lyfe wasn’t shy about leaning into the setting either, dropping PlayStation and Xbox bars, SmackDown talk, and nods to John Cena and Stevie Ray that connected with a relatively new crowd.
From lyrical sparring to suplexes and tag team chaos, RVA Pro Wrestling gave Richmond a little bit of everything.
The next Southpaw Battle Coalition event goes down June 28th, teaming up with RVA Rap Elite for Clash of the Multiverse, a battle rap showcase you won’t want to miss.
