It’s Election Day. Virginia Voters Head to the Poll.
by Eric Jackson
The reverb of the last election is still being felt. And to say this one is nothing short of important would understate the truth.
Today, Tuesday, November 4, registered voters across Virginia are making their final decisions in the 2025 Virginia general election, casting ballots for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and seats in the General Assembly.
Voters are weighing issues ranging from housing affordability and gentrification to public school funding, marijuana justice, and proposals for tax relief. Economic anxiety continues to shape debate as residents express concerns about rising living costs and the stability of programs such as SNAP.
Polling locations opened at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m. Anyone in line by 7 is allowed to cast a ballot. The state offers a Polling Place Lookup Tool on the Virginia Department of Elections website, where voters can check their precinct, see sample ballots, and review photo-ID requirements.
Officials are urging voters to review the ballot before they arrive and to allow extra time during peak hours.
As the Commonwealth once again finds itself in the national spotlight, every vote cast today will help define the political landscape, not only for Virginia, but for the country.
We usually don’t cover politics but will share important local news as needed.
