Ace Omerta’s Back to School Drive
Ace Omerta, a local Hip Hop artist is hosting his 2nd annual Back to School Drive giving away school supplies and clothes.

Organizers will be collecting donations for students with school supplies, clothing and other essentials.
RICHMOND, Va. — Looking for simple ways to give back to the community this year? Ace Omerta is putting together a Back to School Drive to hand out free bookbags, school supplies, shoes, clothes and host a community cookout on Thursday, August 13.
Ace Omerta, the organizer of the event, is in his second year putting on the drive and says he plans to make it an annual tradition.
“This is an important event because we don’t have these givebacks over here in Jackson Ward,” he said.
Omerta says the event is designed to be more than just a school supply giveaway. Families are encouraged to come out, enjoy the atmosphere and take part however they'd like.
“It’s basically just going to be a fun family event,” Omerta said. “Kids can come thru and grab their bookbag first or get food first, whatever they want to do. Everybody will be able to listen to music, dance, grab some food and school supplies and just have fun.”
The event is scheduled from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, August 13th at 3001 Meadowbridge Road.
Omerta will also host a Back to School Clothing Giveaway on Sunday, August 16th. Details below.
